En este post trataré de realizar una comparación entre las traducciones de un mismo texto producidas por dos traductores on-line gratuitos: and http://ets.freetranslation.com/ and http://www.online-translator.com. El texto original es en castellano y ha sido traducido al Inglés. Mi objetivo es señalar las diferencias existentes entre las traducciones realizadas por ambos traductores, no corregir posibles errores ni elegir la traducción mas acertada.

En el fondo de los océanos había un precioso palacio en el cual vivía el Rey del Mar junto a sus cinco hijas, bellísimas sirenas. La más joven, la Sirenita, además de ser la más hermosa, poseía una voz maravillosa. Cuando cantaba, todos los habitantes del fondo del mar acudían para escucharla.
Además de cantar, Sirenita soñaba con salir a la superficie para ver el cielo y conocer el mundo de los hombres, como lo relataban sus hermanas. Pero su padre le decía que solo cuando cumpliera los 15 años tendría su permiso para hacerlo.

In the bottom of the oceans there was a precious palace in which the King of the Sea next to its five daughters lived, most beautiful sirens. The youngest one, the Sirenita, besides being the most beautiful one, possessed a marvelous voice. When it sang, all the inhabitants of the bottom of the sea responded to listen it. Besides singing, Sirenita dreamt of leaving to the surface to see the sky and to know the world of the men, like their sisters they related it. But their father told him that alone when to comply the 15 years he would have his permission to do it.
