Facebook is a social network created by Mark Zuckerberg y founded
by Eduardo Saverin, Chris Hughes, Dustin Moskovitz y Mark Zuckerberg.
At the beginning it was a social network exclusively to Harvard´s students
but nowadays it is open to every person that has a mail adress. Its
users can participate in more social networks at the same time.
As Adam Ostrow says There’s a big difference in functionality too, Facebook
says that if a page becomes popular enough, administration will be
handed over to the Facebook community. In other words, Community Pages
become a whole lot like a wiki once they reach a certain threshold.
We can have different concepts in a facebook page, depending if we are talking about a group, a page or a network.
1. groups: it serve as a tool for building awareness around various
ideas. Shows a topic or an idea to make with the members of the
group.
You can create a group if you go to the option “Create a Group” in the groups application.
2. pages:it is a public profile that enables you to share your business
and products with, so then, Facebook users allow entities(public
figures and organizations) to broadcast information to their fans.
Pages have a lot of advantages couse it is by this way where brands
cand find easier to promote themselves and make easier the contact
with the custom.
3. networks: it is a social structure made up of individuals or
organizations called “nodes”, are made up of social networks
from schools, work or region. Once you are already in Facebook, you
have the option to add more networks to it. If you want to join a
network you just have to search the networks that you are interested
and click on them. What a network facilitates you is to be in contact
with people form other places or regions.
