Sir Timothy “Tim” Berners-Lee, OM, KBE (TimBL or TBL) was born 8th june 1955 in London, United Kingdom, he graduated in Physics in 1976 at the Queen’s College of Oxford’s University. He is considered to be the father of what we call “WEB”.

As he thought it was necessary to share and distribute the information about his research in a quicker and more effective way, Tim degvelopped the ideas which form the web. He and his team mates created what in English is known as HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) or hipertext label language; the HTTP protocol (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol), and the system of object localization in the web URL (Uniform Resource Locator)

It is possible to find lots of his ideas in the Xanadu project (proposed by Ted Nelson) and in the memex (by Vannevar Bush)

We had never had the opportunity to see what a web page was until Tim created the firts web site info which he called info.cern.ch. Here we could read exlanation from him about World Wide Web and everything we could imagine about servers and Internet browsers. Thanks to all his explanations, people had the chance to upload all kind of information and the number of Internet user increased ashtonishingly.
