Kevin Kelly was born in 1952 in Pelsylvannia and graduated from the high school of Westfield in New Jersey. He is the executive director of the Wired magazine as well as a former editor/publisher of the Whole Earth Catalog. Apart from this, although he has not college or university degree,s he has alsoo been a photographer and a writer, he has written several articles for the New York Time, Esquire, The Economist newspapers. He has also written several books but the most famous book is Out of Control: The New Biology of Machines, Sound System, and the Economic World.
He won the National Magazine Award while being the executive director of the Wired. That book was read among two other books before filming the film Matrix.
Kevin Kelly has also appeared on TV talking about the fact that the web is 5,000 years old. The web nowadays according to Kevin Kelly is one of the most important things that have. 5.000 years ago we could not imagine that nowadays therecould be such a huge amount of information found just clicking and loggin in the internet. There are a nearly 100 billion click done per day, 55 trillion links to get into different web pages, 2 billion emails send and so on.
Kelly compares the web with the human brain, he says that the web nowadays is the brain of the people. It will contain more things that it already does, such as bits (microphones, cameras…). He also says that there will be a connection between the atomic and the digital things, something that we could not imagine 5.000 years ago. According to Kevin Kelly, the web will be smarter and it will contain more things that we could ever imagine as the time goes on.
In conclusion, the web is everything now and in the future it will be more.
