1.What’s an E-book?

An electronic book (also known as an e-book) us an electronic or digital version of a book. It is also called this way the dispositive which is used to read this kind of books.

The name is someway ambiguous, since it refers to an individual work in digital format but also to an electronic dispositive used to read books in digital format.

On the other side, many authors believes there has to be made a difference between electronic books and the hypertext. The hypertext is used yo estructurate information towards likns , while an electronic book isn’t anything else tahn the digitalization of a book which originally was edited in paper. An example of hypertext would be WikiSource  and one of electronic book would be any book which can be found in the Internet or in a CD-ROM.

Main differences between a printed book and an E-book

It is clear that traditional or printed books are much easier for us to be used and manipulated, compared to those modern electronioc books, but electronic books give us the chance to read in a very hipertextual way, which means we are not reading a symple story, but we can link a story with many others and read them in many different orders, ehich gives our reading a more versatile aspect.

Another difference is the simplicity of traditional books vs. the activeness of e-books, which may, in some way, make our reading a lot more interesting.

Main advantages of e-books:

  • You do not have to buy them.
  • They are printable.
  • Since they are free, they are obviously much cheaper than traditional ones.

Main advantages of traditional or so called printed books:

  • They can be read as many times as wanted.
  • You can take them anywhere.
  • Anybody can use them, a really good option for people who are not familiarised with computers.
