FIRST DEBATE (bis)

mayo 7th, 2009 · No hay Comentarios

In this first debate we have been analazying a character that has much to do with the worl of computers, the web, the Internet… this person is the author, editor and writer Kevin Kelly (studied in class).

He was born in Pennsylvania in the year 1952 and after his studies he worked for the Wired Magazine as its Executive Editor until the year 1999.

We have been talking about his speech on the EG 2007 Conference in which he talks about the World Wide Web. He explains its main characteristics ant its development: how it was formed, what are its components and how it is going to be in the next 5000 days. He also says that the Web is less than 5000 days old and that lots of things that we couldn`t imagine there were going to appear , have appeared thanks to its development.

How is the Web going to be in the next 5000 days? Everything such as computers, self-phones, laptops… is going to form a single global machine, the mos reliable machine ever. But this machine has some consecuences:

  • Embodiment
  • Re-structuring
  • Co-dependency

So in the next 5000 days the Web is gonna change, it’s gonna be smarter, more personalized and more ubiquitous.
