QUESTIONNAIRE 1: DEFINITIONS OF HUMAN LANGUAGE TECHNOLOGY.

FIRST DEFINITION.

Language technology is a field that includes many dsciplines. It studies the means and methods used for natural language processing computers. Some applications of language technology are the authoring tools (such as spelling) and speech recognition. Language technology also has many ther application areas, which are introduced in the Technologies section and Language Technology World.

 

SECOND DEFINITION.

Natural Language Processing (NLP) can be included inthe field of artificial intelligence and linguistics. It studies the problems of automated generation sand understanding of natural human languages. Natural language generation systems can convert intormation from databases into normalsounding language, and natural language understanding systems can convert human language into formal representations that computer programs can  manipulate easier.
